Volunteers

There is no official hiring process for taking on volunteers but they must fill out and return two forms to tablack@ucsc.edu prior to beginning work.

Every volunteer must sign one of the following two Worker's Compensation waivers:

• The recommended waiver for all UCSC volunteers is the Volunteer Waiver and Election of Workers’ Compensation Coverage; the volunteer is both electing workers' compensation and waiving other remedies, or
• A volunteer who does not want to accept workers’ compensation coverage must sign the General Use Waiver instead.

as well as the Volunteer Agreement Letter.

Safety training is still required for volunteers. Please visit the EH&S webpage devoted to training for volunteers.

The MCD Department unfortunately can not hire volunteers under the age of 18.
