Education Abroad
Biological Sciences students can plan for UC Education Abroad or Education Abroad Independent programs. For information on how to get started with your plan visit the International Education Programs Abroad site.
It is important to begin planning early. Many programs have application deadlines a year in advance of participation.
Students who will take courses abroad must have their planned course work articulated prior to attending the abroad program. The Transferring Credit page provides information on how to request articulation of courses.
If you are taking a course at another institution that is a prerequisite for a course you plan to take in any academic quarter at UCSC, you will not be able to enroll until you have submitted your unofficial transcript (showing the name of the school, your name, the date, the name of the course and the grade you earned) to mcdadvising@ucsc.edu.
Articulation of courses is available once you have been accepted into your program and know what courses you would like to take. Do not wait till the last minute to submit your articulations. Keep in mind that you will need to allow 2-4 weeks for results of your course articulation.
